Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about hiring domestic workers and caregivers anywhere in South Africa.
Getting started
What does Latiffa Domestic Workers Agency do?
We help South African households find domestic workers for household chores, office cleaning, meal preparation and relocation help, plus caregivers and nannies for in-home care. You tell us your town, suburb, schedule and needs; we shortlist suitable candidates from our network of 10,000+ staff.
Which areas do you cover?
We place staff in all nine provinces — major metros, townships and smaller towns. Browse our areas pages for your city or province, or call 071 060 8289 with your town name if it is not listed.
How do I request a domestic worker or caregiver?
Call 071 060 8289, use our online contact form, or email info@latiffadomesticworkers.co.za. We discuss your home, tasks, hours and whether you need part-time, full-time or live-in help.
Do I need to visit your office?
No. Most enquiries are handled by phone and online nationwide. Our office is at 18 Victory Road, Kloof, Durban, if you prefer an in-person discussion.
How quickly can you help?
Many placements are arranged within 24–72 hours depending on your location, role and availability. Caregiver and nanny roles may take longer to match carefully. Call us for a realistic timeframe for your area.
Domestic workers
What services can a domestic worker provide?
Latiffa places staff for household chores (cleaning, laundry, cooking), meal preparation, office and shop cleaning, relocation packing, caregivers for the elderly, and child minders or nannies. Tell us which combination you need.
Can I hire someone part-time only?
Yes. Part-time mornings, afternoons, certain weekdays and once-off deep cleans are common. Specify your preferred hours when you enquire.
Do you offer live-in domestic workers?
Yes, where suitable accommodation is available and duties are agreed upfront — including off-duty time, leave and house rules.
Are your staff vetted?
Yes. We screen candidates and discuss experience, references and fit with your household before introductions.
Can one person handle cleaning and cooking?
Yes — many households want a combined role. Be clear about priorities so we shortlist the right experience.
Caregivers & nannies
What is the difference between a caregiver and a nanny?
Caregivers typically support elderly family members or adults needing daily assistance. Nannies and child minders focus on children — supervision, school runs and routines. Latiffa places both nationwide.
Are your carers trained nurses?
Placements range from experienced carers to staff with formal care backgrounds. Tell us the level you need — companion care, frail support, or more clinical experience where appropriate.
Do you place nannies for school runs?
Yes, if driving is required — specify licence, vehicle use and insurance in your enquiry.
Is live-in care available?
Yes, where suitable accommodation and a clear care plan are agreed upfront.
Holiday and travel nannies?
Yes — popular for December and school holidays. Book early and specify dates and destinations.
Placement process
How does matching work?
You contact us with your requirements. We assess your needs, search our database of 10,000+ candidates, present suitable matches, and support you through interview and start date.
What if the placement does not work out?
We stand behind our placements and work with you to find a replacement when expectations are not met — contact us as soon as concerns arise.
Who employs the domestic worker?
You employ your chosen candidate directly. Latiffa facilitates introduction and matching; employment terms are between you and your worker.
Do you help with contracts?
We discuss duties, hours and live-in arrangements clearly during briefing. Formal contracts remain between employer and employee; seek legal advice for complex arrangements.
Rural and small-town placements?
Yes. We have ladies all over South Africa — call with your town name even if it is not on our website yet.
